Getting Ready for the Sketching Season

Ahoy!

For several years, I've primarily sketched animals, but beginning this year, I'm learning new drawing styles.

I started dabbling in location sketching on our 3 month cruise last year (2022), but still stuck close to what I knew, namely animals. The benefit is that when I took pictures of the ones I saw while traveling, I could pat their heads and scratch behind their ears.

This year, I plan on sketching marinas and parks when we visit them, which means architecture and trees, neither of which I have great skills, at least in spring 2023. Posted here, and updated periodically, are my practice sketches based on last year's photos. By the time we take off, the renderings should be good enough for our Ship's Art page.
